Kenny K's Handyman

Hello everyone!I'm on a roll...4 cards so far this month!!! I have finally dedicated some time to doing what I really love.
Today I showcase a birthday card I made for my husband, Patrick. He has his own painting business and is also a very good handyman. I thought the Kenny K Handyman digi was so him. I'm also into dies at the moment and couldn't wait to use the apron and tools from Marianne Design. I wish I had a pegboard die but since I didn't, I made my own.

Hi everyone,
Today I made my first handbag card. The young lady I gave it to loves designer handbags and this was just perfect. I found the template and tutorial here...only I altered it to make it bigger and to open from the top instead of the bottom.
She loved her card :)

Resting Dude

Hi again! This is a first for me...2 posts in one week!
I'm finally allowing the creativity to flow and making time for something I love so much.
Today's card is for a friend's 20th Birthday. I always look for digital images that in some way reminds me of the person I'm making the card for. Well this guy is really good with computers and I found this digi stamp 'Resting Dude' from Sans Design. I've never coloured such a big scene and was a little scared to add sky and clouds so I left it white. Maybe next time I'll give it a go. Happy Birthday Destiny!!!

Hello everyone,

Hope you all had a wonderful Easter break :) I love holidays but the problem is...they go too quick!
My card today is for a special young lady who is turning 18. Destiny is currently doing a photography course and when I stumbled across this digital image, it reminded me so much of her. It even looks a bit like her. So of course I just had to buy this digi stamp called 'Jess taking pictures' from Jess College Fund and I'm also entering her into their challenge. The theme is 'Favourite Embellishment'.

Embellishment
A decorative detail or feature added to something to make it more attractive.

My favourite embellishment is 'rhinestones'. I love adding sparkle to my cards. I'm really hoping to win because their prize is 36 Copic Sketch Stamping Marker set. Anyway, here is my card.

Hello,

So much time has passed since my last post...
Well I'm happy to say that after battling with a few health issues, I'm ready to craft again and attend to my much neglected blog.

As Mother's Day is fast approaching, I got in early this time and made my mother's card using Tea Time Marci digi stamp from La La Land Crafts. Isn't she a cutie? Happy Birthday to us!!!

On Saturday it was my birthday and my son's 11th birthday. I love sharing my birthday with him.
11 years ago God gave me Gabriel as my birthday present and I am so grateful because he has blessed my life in so many ways as have all of my other kids.
Gabriel loves to drum. He plays drum in our kids worship team at church called 'Nitros'. He is starring in our church Christmas production this year of a 'drummer boy' so I thought since drumming is a very important part of his life, I will make him a card with a drummer.
The digital stamp I used is Kenny K's "Anime drummer". Isn't he cute?

I coloured this image with my copic markers.

Skin: E000, E00, E21

Jungle theme birthday card

I was recently searching online for 'jungle' themed products when I stumbled across
Little Scraps of Heaven Designs and was very happy to find just what I needed. These cute paper piecing's are exactly what I was after. I had never really put one together but thought to give it a go.

I want to make my friends son a birthday book and card for his 1st birthday. The day after I purchased their 'Zoo Safari  Pattern Collection', they offered a free 'lion' pattern with the condition you would create something on the weekend with this pattern. Well, I did just that!
This is the card I made...

I'm so excited to be going to the 'Papercraft show' this long weekend.
I am keen to see new products and especially meet Alyce Keegan and see her colour live.

Thanks for stopping by :)

Copic Card Challenge in support of Koala Kids

I am so excited to be entering my first Copic Card Challenge for 2 reasons. Apart from having a chance to win some incredible prizes, it's all for a good cause. I love that Copic Australia will donate $5 to Koala Kids for EVERY card entered! I have also chosen to donate my card to a Koala Kids Patient.

For this challenge, I've created my first criss-cross pocket card and below you will find instructions on how I made it.

          Materials needed
  • 1 12'x12' card stock for the pocket (I've used white)
  • Card stock (contrasting colour) for insert, frames and punches (I've used red)
  • 2 pieces of 5 3/8" x 5 3/8" patterned paper
  • 2 piece of 5 3/8" x 5 3/8" patterned paper cut in half for triangles
  • Scor-Pal
  • Martha Stewart heart border punch
  • Strong
    adhesive
  • Scissors/paper trimmer
  • corner rounder
  • Stamped image/s and embellishments as desired

Instructions

Cut 2 pieces of cardstock 5 1/2" x 11" and score each piece at 5 1/2"
Cut one of the squares in half to form a triangle (on each piece).

Glue both squares together

Cut 3 squares of patterned paper (5 3/8" x 5 3/8")
One will be for the inside.
* (cut 4 squares if you want one for the back cover)

The remaining 2 squares can be cut in half to form triangles.
You should have 4 triangles but you only need two.
* If you are using the same patterned paper for each triangle then you only need one square.

The INSIDE and BACK square should look like this.
I've only covered the inside.

Glue both patterned triangles to the back.
When they are folded towards the front,
the patterned paper will be seen when crossed at the front.

It should look like this once folded.
Glue or place adhesive on the bottom of the inside square,
as well as the bottom of the triangle that will be on top of the card.

For the Insert
Cut cardstock and patterned paper same size as in picture.
Round off both top corners of each piece.
Use the heart punch along the bottom.

For the Tab
Cut a strip of cardstock 2 1/2" long and use the heart punch along one side.

Make sure you place the tab piece between the other 2 pieces
before sticking them together.

I made this circle with sentiment to be glued on my insert.

To make the circle

Cut out a 3 1/2" circle and stamp as desired.
I cut another strip of cardstock and used the heart punch along one side
to create a border to frame my circle.

This is how it looks with the border around it.
I got this idea from Norma (From my craft room)
Check out her other borders and her cool blog.

Embellish your card as desired.

Both digital stamps are from La La Land Crafts and coloured with copic markers.
